Abilities and Tactics
General Information
Special and Passive Abilities
Passive Abilities: Regenerates life when attacking.
Special Ability: Blightmites--Slows down enemy units via parasitic infection and makes them more susceptible to damage.
Strategies
The Blight, like all Bombers, is best suited to destruction of Manaliths, because of it's attack speed and damage, and because it's flying. It's also a big target, and costs 2 souls.
In multiplayer, the Blight is great for tearing down manaliths. Necromancers unlock their Bomber unit at level 3, a whole two levels before any other wizards unlock theirs, giving Necromancers a great advantage at this level already. The other wizards at this level will unlock Brawler units, except for Stratos, who unlocks the ranged Squall. But even the Squall will have difficulty defending itself from the Blight.
Unfortunately, the Blight is a big target, and can't survive concentrated attacks or spells. Because of it's use of destroying Manaliths and soul count, an opposing level 3 wizard will usually put this enemy on high priority.
Because you unlock this creature at Level 3, a Necromancer would be wise to send Blights around the map, destroying Manaliths, as the opposing Wizard may still have low defenses. However, at this point in the game, the enemy may have powerful Brawlers, in his army or guardianed. The guardianed Brawlers will severely hinder the efforts of the Blight to wreck the manaliths, and buy time for enemy to get units over to the manalith and kill the Blight.
The Blights ability to regain health when attacking in addition to its health reserves, make it somewhat more durable than some Bombers.
Blightmites see limited use in Multiplayer games as the Blight is mostly at a distance wrecking manaliths, but the mites are useful for crippling a retreating army of creatures.
However, you may consider saving souls at Level 3, because the next Level offers the Netherfiend, and you might want to feed them souls.
