The creature is obtained along with Vinewall and in campaign is received in Persephone's seventh mission. It shares its unit model with Jabberrocky and Wrecktangle.

Name EtymologyEdit

Ents are named after a race of beings, who in turn received their name from the Anglo-Saxon word "ent", meaning giant.


Ents are a race of intelligent beings native to Arborea. They are counted among the oldest creatures in the world of Sacrifice, pre-dating the gods, but serving Persephone.

The eldest and most prominent Ent known is Toldor.

General InformationEdit

Ents are the heaviest hitters of all of Persephone's ground creatures. They are harder to kill than trolls, but regenerate more slowly.

Special and Passive AbilitiesEdit

Special Ability: Protector: Creates a full body shield on nearby allies that reduces damage taken in battle.


Ents are most useful when charging the enemy lines: they move more slowly than trolls, and so their damage output is maximised when enemies are close together. That doubled with their remarkable helth pool and regeneration makes them extremely useful when dispatching lesser ranged creatures, as ents can dispatch them with a single blow.

Ents are also handy defenders - since they can easily dispatch melee attackers and their active ability can reduce incoming damage for all friendlies near them. Guardianing them to a manalith is not usually a good idea: for the same number of souls, a pair of a troll and a gnome can fend off melee attackers as effectively, and will also be able to do considerable damage at a range, where ents are practically useless.

Ents can effectively take down manaliths, however not nearly as much as Dragons and Frostwolves, due to lesser mobility and power.

In multiplayer matches rarely if ever are more than one ent present in an army, and for good reason. Their usefulness suffers from diminishing returns: they're slow, protector cast from two ents doesn't stack the resistance, and they're expensieve in terms of souls. In that regard two trolls would be a more sound investment.
