The creature is obtained along with Healing Aura and in campaign is received in Persephone's sixth mission. It shares its unit model with Abomination.

Species

Mutants first appeared in the world of Sacrifice after the sack of Urghaz, thus appearing to be degenerated descendants of Trolls. Seeing their constant pain and the aggressiveness it was causing, Persephone offered them comfort in her service, to which they agreed, although a bit confused.

Since they have no specified home, besides Urghaz, they are presumed to be spread out all over Elysium.
