Spell Summary[]

A structure that can be erected upon a mana fount, the Shrine allows a wizard to establish a remote soul drop-off point. Sac Doctors will head to the nearest Shrine to convert souls (or they will go to the Altar if that is the closest). Unlike manaliths, Shrines regenerate mana quite slowly, roughly at an altar's pace, and Manahoars cannot draw mana from them remotely either.

Tactical Uses[]

A Shrine can be used as a temporary altar. While not able to resurrect your wizard on death, it can be used to convert red souls. Keep in mind that an enemy wizard cannot commence the banishment process on your wizard using the Shrine. It is however as easy to destroy as a manalith. You can also cast guardian spells on Shrines.

In competitive play, Shrines generally see little use as the increased regeneration from more manaliths is seen as more desirable. Still, if you want to convert lots of souls but fear for the safety of your altar, a remote shrine may be a good idea - just as long as the enemy does not discover it.
